At Journalet, minimizing data collection and maximizing privacy is our core philosophy. We believe your thoughts belong to you alone.

1. Data Collection

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

  • Account information (email, password hash) for authentication.
  • Your journal entries and mood data, which are encrypted.
  • Usage data (timestamps, interaction counts) to improve service stability.

2. Data Usage

Your data is used solely to:

  • Provide the journaling and AI companion service.
  • Generate personalized insights for you.
  • Maintain and improve the security of the platform.
We do not sell your data to third parties or advertisers.

3. Data Security

We adhere to strict security protocols:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
  • Database access is strictly limited and audited.
  • We use Supabase for secure backend infrastructure.

4. AI Processing

To provide AI insights, text from your entries is processed by our AI partners (e.g., OpenAI, Google, Anthropic). We enforce strict data usage policies with these providers to ensure your data is not used to train their public models.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all personal data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Export your data at any time.
